The 5 trees planted:
American Sycamore Platanus occidentalis 50-75 feet tall
American Linden Tilia americana 50-80 feet tall
Eastern Redbud Cercis canadensis 20- 30 feet tall
Bitternut Hickory Carya cordiformis 50-70 feet tall
Chestnut Oak Quercus montana 65-80 feet tall
Community Seed Swap
Since 2024, PGC has hosted a community seed swap at the Plattsmouth Public Library on the last Saturday in January (National Seed Swap Day). On this day PGC shares donated seeds from generous seed companies, and over 100 gardeners from Plattsmouth and surrounding communities come together to share their seeds and meet like-minded people.

Rhylander Park
Bush Replacement
On May 1, 2024, Plattsmouth Garden Club members replaced the bushes at the entrance to Rhylander Park. This project led by and financed by Elly Biederman.
Garfield Park
Veteran's Memorial Garden
In April of 2024, Plattsmouth Garden Club (PGC) received a $1000 grant from the Plattsmouth Community Foundation. This grant was used to purchase native plants to renovate the Veteran's Memorial Garden. The Nebraska Monarchs also donated 50+ native plants to add to the garden. PGC members have been busy weeding, mulching, and watering the newly planted natives. We look forward to seeing the garden continue to grow in the years to come.
